Ethical Sourcing and Sustainability
How we make sure every log we sell is legal, traceable and harvested in a way that keeps Central African forests productive.
The Congo Basin is the second-largest tropical forest on earth. Timber from it can be a renewable resource, but only when it is harvested legally and selectively. These are the standards we apply to every order.
Legal concessions only
We buy only from operators that hold valid forest management or harvesting permits issued by national forestry authorities. Volumes we cannot document, we do not buy.
Selective harvesting
Concessions follow national minimum felling diameters for each species. Only mature trees are felled; younger trees are left standing to grow and seed the next generation. Many concessions also work to approved forest management plans with rotation cycles of 25 years or more.

Traceability from stump to container
Each log is marked and recorded at the concession, and the marks follow it through the sawmill to the bundle in your container. Our photos of logs carry these marks and barcodes, and the export documents link them to the shipment.
CITES species
Five species we supply are listed in CITES Appendix II: African Mahogany (Khaya), Padouk, Doussie (Afzelia), Afrormosia and Bubinga. These are exported only with a CITES export permit issued against the national quota. You can check any species on the official CITES Checklist.
Species we do not trade
- Microberlinia bisulcata (a critically endangered Zebrawood species); we supply only Microberlinia brazzavillensis
- Any timber from protected areas or community forests without a valid agreement
- Kevazingo (Bubinga) from Gabon, where its harvesting is banned
Regulatory compliance
Our documents are prepared to support your due diligence under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and EU Timber Regulation, the UK Timber Regulation and the US Lacey Act. FSC or PEFC certified volumes can be quoted on request, subject to availability.
Local communities
Some trees, such as Moabi, are valued by forest communities for their seeds and oil. Harvesting of these species is restricted, and we supply them only in documented, legal volumes.
